At Marshall + Grey, we specialize in timeless, heirloom-quality artwork—from custom albums and wall art to digital images. Whether you’re decorating your home or just want digitals to share, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
This is our process:
Book your due date.
Your due date will be the placeholder for your session in my queue until baby is born. We finalize your actual session date once baby has made his/her arrival to be sure and plan the session within the proper timeframe. Upon booking, you’ll fill out a quick questionnaire so I can tailor the session to your family’s style and story. You’re welcome to share any personal touches you’d like included.
booking fee
A down payment of $200 is due up front at the time of booking as a retainer fee to secure your session and gallery reveal. This fee covers all the planning, coordination, and design prep that goes into creating your experience. Because of the time and care involved, and limited availability, this fee is non-refundable. This fee is applied toward your final balance according to what package you choose, and your remaining balance will be due 3 business days before the session.
session day
My studio is warm, calm, and baby-friendly. You’re welcome to feed and comfort your baby as needed. If siblings are involved, we’ll start with family photos so little ones can finish early.
gallery reveal
Once your gallery is ready, we’ll meet in person or online to select your favorite products and images. All printed items are archival quality and made to last. Digital files are included in every package, with options to add more.

When is the best time to schedule my newborn portrait session?
It is best to reserve a spot on my schedule while in your second trimester. This way you can rest assured that your newborn session will occur within two weeks of birth! My calendar fills up quickly and I only take on a limited amount of newborns each month. It is best to make sure that we have your session in the books before the birth so that you don't have to think about it once the baby is born. All you will need to do is let my know when baby arrives and we will immediately choose which day works best for you to come in.
How do I book without knowing my session date or what day baby will be born?
Your due date will be your "session date" so that we can be sure you are on my schedule for that month. Once your baby is born, all you have to do is send me a text and from there we will schedule a definite session date within the first 5-21 days of your baby's arrival. Once you book your newborn session, I'll send you a detailed email with all of the information you need to know, including scheduling once the baby is here, what you can expect from your session, how to prep yourself and your baby, and other helpful tips!
How soon should I have my newborn session after baby's arrival?
The sooner the better! Newborns tend to stay sound asleep a few days after birth and because of this, we are able to gently move your little one into sweet poses. After a couple of weeks, this is not easy to do. After a couple weeks, babies begin to stretch and the poses will not be easy to accomplish.
Can I incorporate sibling and family photos with my baby?
Absolutely! The Family poses can be added to the Standard or Luxe session for an additional $100!
Do I have to order prints through you?
I operate a full service photography studio and print products are part of what I offer within my services, and I want my clients to have the best possible quality possible for their prints and products. Your ability to order prints never expires, and I offer several different product options, including canvases, albums, announcement cards, wood prints, calendars, and more!
I do not give out print releases for third party printing however, I want my clients to be happy with their experience overall so I do offer the option to purchase a print release if desired. Marshall + Grey Studios will not be liable for color damage or poor print quality from any third party printing sites outside of our own professional lab.
How long will the session last?
Your session will last between 1 to 3 hours, depending on the type of session you book, and pausing to allow time for feeding and changing. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable and the pace of the session will be determined by the baby.
What is the TAT on my images?
You will come back to the studio after your session for a viewing appointment, or you can opt for a virtual viewing appointment in which I will send a link to your email consisting of heavily watermarked proofs from your session. From there, you will be able to view the soft proof digitals and choose which images you would like. After your viewing appointment, you can expect your finalized images within 2-4 weeks!
